We hope you enjoy today's service. The special music is “Find Us Faithful” performed by the NSUMC Chancel Choir, recorded 3/6/22.
Lenten Theme: Embracing the Uncertain
Today’s Theme: The Uncertainty of Forgiveness
“Then Peter said to Jesus, ‘Lord, how many times should I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Should I forgive as many as seven times?’ Jesus said, ‘Not just seven times, but rather as many as seventy-seven times….’” Matthew 18:21-22(CEB)
God of grace, you call on us to repent, to forgive, to endure, and to hope: Strengthen us that we may work always for the common good. We confess that we look for sin in others, and are reluctant to examine ourselves; we are caught up in worldly wisdom and forget your words; we complain about troubles and fail to see your good gifts. Have patience with us and nurture us so that we may grow in love, for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. We have been justified by his blood, and we are saved by his life. This is proof of God’s love for us. Thanks be to God for God will abundantly pardon.
Sisters and brothers, let us stand firm in Christ. Let us trust God’s promises in all things and take shelter in the Spirit’s loving arms in challenging times. Go in peace, to love and serve the world.
